Professionalism
Being a professional educator is an important part of the profession. Many people have a story of how one teacher helped them become more than they thought they could. Being able to have that type of impact on students requires a lot from the teacher. Being overall professional in dress, interactions, and how the teacher conducts themselves inside and outside of the classroom. Professionalism includes how a teacher speaks in the classroom, their behavior, attitude, punctuality, and dispositions. I feel like I do well in this standard. I always dress appropriately for school, being on time and prepared for class. I always use appropriate language in class and have appropriate conversations with students during, and outside of class. I try to always have a positive attitude towards the students, and if I ever get upset with the students, I use it as a chance to encourage the students to do better because I know they can. I never talk down to the students or put them down in any way. I respect each student and show that respect to them in hopes that the students will return respect to me. Being a professional educator shows that the teacher has a respect for their profession and want to be the best educator they can be. I plan to continue working to be a professional educator, and how students the respect they deserve and keep a good standing between myself and my students.
